Picked up by Jonathan from our hotel. His communication was incredible the night before the event on WhatsApp. Told us that it'll be cold so bring a jacket. Grateful about that otherwise I'd have froze. He was at our hotel not a minute late and not a minute early. It was amazing. Wi (pronounced We) was our jeep driver. Amazing photos, great recommendations for poses, wish I could upload some of be videos he took! Incredible. Experience was outstanding I will absolutely be recommending. The hot springs were surprisingly great. Like others mentioned, there are flies everywhere. We didn't eat at the restaurant at the hot spring because of the flies!! But Jonathan was able to recommend a restaurant on the way back to our hotel which was a lovely place too! Entire thing was incredible. Will more than likely do it again.

We got picked up from our villa by Kadek Dwika, who made us feel very comfortable and safe in his car. We where then handed to Riski our tour guide for the day who explained what we where doing and when. Risky was very helpful and again made us feel comfortable and safe. Taking lotscof pictures for us without even asking. Riski took it upon himself to learn a lot about the history of Mt Batur and informed us of all his knowledge. Both Kadek and Riski could not have been any more helpful and friendly. Start to finish everything ran smoothly and was in our own time, we never felt rushed. Very good experience, highly recommend.

#Kadek was a great guide/driver. He was on time at pickup, drove safely and was easy to talk to on the drive to Mount Batur. The trek went a little over time but I never felt rushed when heading to the hot springs or coffee plantation. A great experience overall and would recommend him as a guide/driver.

Early mornings are never easy but this day trip got off to the best start with the jeep ride to Batur sunrise. The jeep goes about half way to the summit but the views and vibe is still one not to miss! We got so many great photos, met new friends and the breakfast we were provided was perfect for snacking on the rooftop! After the sunrise, our driver Aguss spent the day taking us to spots we had highlighted on the route home. Aguss was very friendly and accomodating, and he made us feel comfortable through out the day. He made sure we got to all the places we'd requested and we didn't feel rushed at any point. A big thanks to Aguss for making our day memorable! We would highly recommend!

#It was a wonderful tour—we loved every minute of it. The jeep climb with our guide William was unforgettable. We got lots of great photos and even caught the sunrise. After that, we enjoyed a 6-hour tour of Ubud with our guide Putrawan, who planned the itinerary for us and showed us some of Ubud’s most beautiful spots. We did the jeep tour to see the sunrise at Mount Batur, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The organization was excellent, and everything ran smoothly, punctually, and professionally. I would like to give a special mention to Prady, the driver who picked us up from the hotel and took us to the starting point of the activity. He was very friendly, punctual, and made us feel comfortable throughout the journey. We would also like to especially thank Komang Adipta, our jeep driver. He did an outstanding job, driving safely and helping us make the most of the experience. In addition, he is a very kind person and an incredible photographer. He helped us take some spectacular photos that made the memory of this sunrise even more special.

Planning your Mount Batur jeep tour

Dry Season (April-September): If you’re visiting Mount Batur during this season, you’ll be treated to clear skies, which means increased chances of an unobstructed view of the sunrise!

Wet Season (October-March): The trails can be muddy and slippery during the wet season, but the views will be lush after the rains.

The summit sees nearly 200 tourists a day trying to catch the sunrise. July, August, and December is when the mountain draws most crowds. While the weather is ideal for a trek in the dry season, a jeep tour is doable all-year round!

Wear hiking shoes so you can explore the volcano comfortably.
Carry some insect repellent; you’ll thank us later!
A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for sun protection.
Carry a light windcheater to protect yourself against the chill.
